1930s Series
(2 1/2" X 3 1/2")
Dating of this series is based on the fact that the labels were obviously published after the
Royal York was opened in 1929 but before the old Hotel Vancouver closed in 1939.
Based on this dating, it is extremely likely that the complete set must also
have included the Algonquin Hotel. And, depending
on the exact year these labels were printed, there may also be versions for Digby Pines (purchased by CPR in 1931) and Place Viger (operating until 1935).
1940s/1950s Series
(5" X 3")
The corporate font used in this sticker appeared in advertisements from 1934 to
1958 and in the official corporate logo from 1946 to 1959. The style of
illustration is also very similar to ads from the late '40s and early '50s.
1960s Series
(5" X 3")
This more streamlined version of the corporate font first came into use in 1959
