WELCOME!

For out-of-town guests we suggest Toronto.com for ideas to help plan your weekend in the city.  It's got the latest on T.O. arts, sports, dining and music.  It also has scalable city and transit maps and even weather information.

American visitors can find out the current exchange rate on the dollar at Yahoo! Finance. And if that wasn't enough of a bonus, check out the Government of Canada website regarding rebates on GST paid on accommodation and purchases while in the country.

ACCOMMODATION

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Toronto Courtyard Marriott for our guests.  Call toll free 1-800-847-5075 and mention the Marshall Taylor wedding to receive a discounted rate of $159 CDN on a room with your choice of two queen size beds or one king size bed. Rooms will only be held until September 10 so be sure to call before then - you can always cancel anytime up until 24 hours prior to the day of arrival without incurring a charge.

CEREMONY & RECEPTION

Black Creek Pioneer Village is a living history museum recreating Ontario's colourful past. More than 35 homes, workshops, public buildings and farms recreate the atmosphere of life in a rural Victorian community of the 1860s. Craftspeople and workers wearing period costumes demonstrate skills such as open-hearth cooking, bread-making, looming, milling, blacksmithing, sewing, printing and more. The village is especially picturesque in the fall and we encourage our guests to stroll through the homes, farms and woodlands either before or after the ceremony.  Although public access to the buildings ends at 4:30 PM, you may continue to walk through the grounds until 5:00.

This unique wedding site has some special guidelines of which guests should be aware:

  • The entrance to the village is through the Visitor's Centre.  We recommend that you arrive at the village at 3:00 PM at the very latest in order to allow for a 10 minute walk from the parking lot to the church.   Guests with special needs should contact us in advance so that we can make appropriate arrangements.

  • Inform the parking lot attendant and the Visitor Centre cashier that you are with the Marshall Taylor wedding to receive complementary parking and admission.

  • The church is identified on the Black Creek Pioneer Village site map you received with your invitation (click here to print it again).  See DIRECTIONS above for directions to the site.

  • Confetti is not permitted anywhere on the grounds.

Guests who received Reception cards should let us know of any special dietary or mobility needs.  We regret to inform our guests that the reception venue is not wheelchair accessible.  The Half Way House is also identified on the Black Creek Pioneer Village site map.

AFTER-PARTY

There's parking beside the restaurant but if you're coming from downtown play it safe and take the subway instead (it's only 4 stops from the hotel!) or grab a cab.  The entrance to Joe's Elbow room is located just under the main entrance to Joe Badali's.  See DIRECTIONS above for instructions on how to get to the restaurant.
