CHURCH DECOR  |  RESTAURANT DECOR  |  BOUTONNIÈRES AND CORSAGES

A triumph of quality over quantity.  Even though the pictures are a little dark, you can still get a sense of how wonderful the arrangements looked.  Our florist used twigs, burnt orange roses, orange bittersweet berries, seeded eucalyptus, and orange wax flower among other seasonal plants to highlight the fall theme.

CHURCH DECOR

Right after the large Marshall Taylor Union sign outside the church, guests were greeted by a lush garland and a sconce arrangement that heralded the decor inside.  The garland was a last minute addition (much to our decorator Val's delight) made possible by the fact that we had done so well at sticking to our budget.

Besides the sconces, the two chandeliers were also wrapped in fall foliage.  (The candles in the rear chandelier could not be lit due to concern about wax dripping on the guests below but oddly enough the venue had no such concern about the front chandelier which hung over the betrothed couple!)

The chandelier decor from the church was later used to decorate the restaurant fireplace and head table.  (Val would want us to emphasize to readers that the wall sconce "decor" in the restaurant was provided by the venue and not by her!)

During dinner Peter actually pinched the leaves and buds at the head table convinced Val had mixed in artificial flowers, so unbelievably perfect they looked!  Many of the dinner guests were similarly disbelieving about the flowers used in the centerpieces. (By the way, Val also loathed the wallpaper as did just about every other woman we talked to when planning the wedding!)

BOUTONNIÈRES AND CORSAGES

The beautifully crafted boutonnières and corsages were made up of cream colour sweetheart roses with dark blue in-season berries in the front and bear grass in the back.  The corsages  had stems wrapped in ribbon to match the colour of the wearer's outfit and were held in place by magnetic strips to avoid damaging the fabric.
